| Like all serious breeders, we place special emphasis on the value of our mares. Recognizing that progeny inherits equal genetic contributions from both sire and dam, we have selected our mares carefully. We also believe the mare has a strong influence based on her daily interraction with her foal. In looking at our mares, it's our belief that what we see before us is likely to be close to her resulting offspring in physical makeup as well as disposition and personality. Our first question is, do we like what we see before us? Next, do we like what she has produced? We also look beyond the individual mare to her pedigree, and to her sire and dam and their pedigrees, knowing that their genes may also be expressed in the foals. If we have an opportunity to view siblings and related offspring, that too can tell us a lot about possible inheritances. | ||||||||
